BAFE Woman Engineer Wins Maramba Award 2023

The Philippine Society of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineers (PSABE) has conferred the prestigious 2023 Maramba Award to BAFE Assistant Director Juana Tapel PhD during the culminating activity of the 72nd PSABE Annual Convention held at the SMX Mall of Asia, Pasay City on April 27, 2023.

Bloodletting has been used in medicine from the beginning of time and is still widely used in modern medicine. It is a crucial procedure for a variety of illnesses, such as anemia, high blood pressure, and other disorders.

Philippine Space Agency joins BAFE in satellite crops monitoring

During the coordination meeting last march 14, 2023 in Phillipine Space Agency, the following highlights and action plan were discussed. Firstly, PhilSA and BAFE will have a joint Collaborative on Research Agreement (CRA) with PhilSA providing the draft template.

BAFE-SRED conducts pilot PTO monitoring and CC info caravan

The Bureau of Agricultural and Fisheries Engineering – Standards Regulation and Enforcement Division (BAFE-SRED) together with Regional Agricultural Engineering Division – Standards Regulation and Enforcement Section (RAED-SRES XI) conducted the pilot testing of Permit-to-Operate (PTO) Compliance Monitoring and Certificate of Conformity (CC) Onsite Inspection and Information Caravan from February 20 to 24, 2023 in various locations in Region XI.

The Department of Agriculture-Bureau of Agricultural and Fisheries Engineering (DA-BAFE) is involving the DA Regional Field Offices (DA-RFOs) through their Regional Agricultural Engineering Divisions (RAEDs) and the Local Government Units (LGUs) to generate support and promote interest in the Registration of Ownership of Agricultural and Fisheries Machinery Equipment System(RAFMES).

The Department of Agriculture – Bureau of Agriculture and Fisheries Engineering (DA-BAFE) opened its doors to accommodate Senior High School Students enrolled in a public high school in Balintawak, Quezon City for an internship program. Ten (10) male Senior High School or Grade 12 students from Balingasa High School taking the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) strand of the Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL) track have started their internship in DA-BAFE office.

In an effort to come up with a harmonized measure of level of farm mechanization in the country, the Department of Agriculture – Bureau of Agricultural and Fisheries Engineering (DA-BAFE) is teaming up with Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization (PHilMech) and the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB).

Amid rising food prices in urban areas, the government is bolstering its provision of interventions that support production, processing, and transport of agricultural and fisheries commodities. Agricultural engineering interventions have the potential to address rising prices of basic commodities by increasing food supply and efficiency in the food value chain in highly urbanized cities (HUCs).
